A nature gem in Madrid
On the banks of Rio Manzanares there is a 10 km park, featuring numerous places of interest, including historic landmarks, green spaces, playgrounds and leisure areas for the entire family, multi game courts and sports facilities.
Rio Manzanares centre of Madrid, and the Carabanchel and Usera neighbourhoods. Aside being a beautiful natural landmark of the city, it is also an important historic attraction. The river was one of the main defence lines for the Republican forces during the Siege of Madrid in the Spanish Civil War. Bunkers from that time can still be seen in, and around Perales del Río.
