A storehouse of masterful artwork

Real Basilica de San Francisco el Grande is one Madrid's largest churches. However, the church is more well known for its vast collection of artworks by masters like; by Goya, Zurbarán, Alonso Cano, Maella and Casado del Alisal, among others. These alone make the basilica a must see attraction.

The frescoes adorning the dome and barrel-vaulted ceilings, and the beautiful stained-glass windows make the church's interior a work of art by themselves. The dome is also one of the largest in the world, measuring some 33 meters in diameter.
