Description

The enchanting Plaza de la Villa is one of Madrid's most attractive locations. Three sides of this intimate square are surrounded by excellent examples of 17th century barroco madrileño, a breathtaking combination of brick, stone, and wrought iron. It served as the seat of Madrid's municipal government from the Middle Ages until recently, when the city council moved to the illustrious Palacio de Cibeles on Plaza de la Cibeles.
