The 17th Marqués de Cerralbo's former home, owned by the politician, poet and archaeologist (1845-1922), exudes 19th-century opulence with its gala dining hall and grand ballroom. Inside, the mansion is a showroom for its former owner's eclectic and diverse collection of items ranging from Oriental pieces, to religious paintings and clocks, to artworks from renowned painters such as Zurbarán, Ribera, van Dyck, and El Greco. A visitor can easily be overwhelmed by the sheer variety of this collection, which truly reflects the marqués' unique and varied tastes.
