Description

Completed in the 17th century under the patronage of Empress Margarita de Austria, this baroque Madrid mansion is still occupied by nuns of the Augustine order. The magnificent collection of art includes many gold and silver reliquaries, one of which is said to contain the liquefied blood of San Pantaleón that is said to re-liquefy each year on July 27th. Surrounded by its charming brick, exposed stone and wrought iron facade, the convent is located near the Palacio Real on a beautiful plaza.
