Description

Grandly ornate frescoes, painted in 1992 by Carlos Franco, can be found adorning the walls of Madrid's 17th-century Real Casa de la Panadería, making it one of the city's most impressive sights. Drawing inspiration from the signs of the zodiac and gods, such as Cybele, Franco created a magnificent backdrop for the plaza, which was unveiled to mark Madrid's designation as European Capital of Culture in 1992. Today, the building serves as the city's primary tourist office.
