Description

The gardens located beneath the Palacio Real are a recreation of the grounds encircling the palace of Versailles, particularly along the Pradera, which runs from east to west, and is complete with a lush lawn and the Palacio as a backdrop. Adorning the centre of the gardens is the Fuente de las Conchas (Fountain of the Shells), a work of art crafted by Ventura Rodríguez, who was known as the Goya of Madrid in the 18th century. The entrance to these gardens is located on Paseo de la Virgen del Puerto.
